You may recall in March a post about a pop-up shop that I was so fond of. Well, the owners of Here. A Pop Up Shop, Amy & Ellen, popped up again this May, but this time in downtown Annapolis. And when I heard about it, I couldn't stay away! So after we closed up shop at the studio, Nancy and I headed over to see what this round had in store! If you aren't familiar with the pop-up shop concept, it really is brilliant. And especially this one in particular that aims to showcase the areas most talented emerging artists - from home decor to paper goods to apparel to jewelry - these ladies have Annapolis covered. Think a brick-and-mortar Etsy shop. And when you shop here you can always feel good about what you purchase because it's supporting our local artist community. Something I'm a strong, strong supporter of being an artist myself.
This shop was just as impressive if not more so - with a prime location on Randall St. just blocks from Naval Academy! Foot traffic was high and so were spirits (well, they were serving mimosas. WIN.) The shop featured familiar designers from the previous shop and I was ecstatic to see brand new products (what can I say, I'm a sucker for retail therapy). I am officially a declared life-long pop-up shopper. After we stopped in, we gave away some session vouchers for an evening private-shop raffle and are excited to hear from the winners!
What's even more exciting is that my clients may soon get to experience some of the designer apparel wardrobe right in my studio during sessions - sure to get you hooked on the shop when it next "pops" up. Which will be in July, by the way. So mark your calendars...and make time to support your local artist community!
