This past weekend was definitely a busy one! The quiet of winter has definitely passed - and somehow when the sun comes out and warms up our world, we find ourselves racing outside to realize just how much we have missed breathing in all that fresh air! While I spent a good chunk of this weekend working on some awesome new projects soon to be announced - including a fabulous styled shoot that came together yesterday in the studio - I did manage to squeeze in some time exploring a new and intriguing concept shop on West Street called HERE. a pop up shop. And I am so glad I did! Besides being greeted by two fabulous ladies, Amy & Ellen, who are responsible for bringing this awesome idea to life in our area, I was also offered a signature mimosa that, shall I say, certainly enhanced (grins widely) my shopping experience - and along with their personal charms - definitely coaxed me into staying twice as long! It goes without saying this is my kind of shop. Not only was it full of unique items, but everything was creatively displayed and as inviting a boutique as you could ever ask for. HERE. a pop up shop aims to create excitement surrounding our area's most talented and creative apparel, jewelry and home decor artists by expertly setting up a stylish "limited-time only" retail experience showcasing local emerging artists. Clearly a concept I can get firmly behind. From pretty little frocks you just have to have, to eclectic wall art, paper goods and handmade jewelry and accessories - all made exclusively by locals! What could be cooler than that?
Besides being an awesome shop, which would certainly be enough, the pop up seemed to draw in a really warm and artistically-driven crowd. I got to meet some great like-minded people who believe that supporting the local arts is something we all can benefit from as a community.
Trust me when I say these ladies know what they're doing. They even had some toy cars available to occupy my little one so nothing could cut my shopping short! I have to give a huge shout out to Travis Curry (if you don't know Travis - check him out!) for letting me know about HERE a pop up shop - I am so glad I got to find out what it is all about! The shop finished it's fabulous debut this past Sunday, but they'll be back with more in the spring and you can bet I'll be there to check out all the new finds.
Speaking of finds, I obviously couldn't come home empty handed - and nothing excites a girl more than a happy little package full of pretty things! I will admit that the contents of this bag have been worn every day since, and I'm awaiting impatiently for the next HERE a pop up shop to, well, pop up!
